March 18, 2019 The annual Budget Retreat of Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye LCDA has commenced. The event which is taking place somewhere in Ikeja began few minutes ago with the HOD Agriculture, Mrs Oladunjoye, prayed in a Christian way while Hon AbdulRafiu Bola Obale prayed in a Muslim way. In his opening address, the Chairman of Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye LCDA, Hon Rasaq Olusola Ajala, welcomed the participants to the event. He recalled that the last retreat recorded some economic growths. He said this year's budget was christened BUDGET OF PROSPERITY. Having achieved considerable achievements from the last year's budget in the area of infrastructural development, roads, boreholes with generating sets for the people, roads, drainages, completing projects in our schools, provision of amenities, citizens' welfare, Youth empowerment and many more, this year's budget would focus on capacity building for the youth which includes but not limited to: ●Engaging the youth in social services such as the community surveillance Corps and fumigation. ●Talent Hunt Activities. ●Skill Acquisition ●IT empowerment and many more. He further stated that his government would encourage external engagement (using contractors) in carrying out projects and trade assistance programme would continue and bursaries would also be given to indigent undergraduates within the LCDA. He said that this retreat would provide an opportunity for participants to discuss and brainstorm on how to improve in the area of generating more revenues so as to provide social amenities for our people. The event is still on going as different departments are presently discussing ways to make this year better than last year.
