ODIOLOWO-OJUWOYE LCDA DISTRIBUTES FREE GCE FORMS TO INDIGENTS STUDENTS, AS THREE STUDENTS FROM THE SAME FAMILY COME TOP

Odiolowo-Ojuwoye LCDA under the leadership of its Chairman, Hon. Rasaq Olusola Ajala today distributed free GCE forms to the indigent students of the local council development area.
The event took place at the main hall of the council at Town planning way in Ilupeju.
Students all over the local council development area had sat for MOCK GCE to select the best candidates to obtain the forms few days ago.
The examination was strictly conducted under the supervision of stakeholders in the education sector, scored and recorded.
While addressing the press after the event, the council boss expressed his happiness over the successful completion of the whole exercise.
He emphasized that there is no magic about the whole thing except for the students to read and pass the examination.
"We have given the students a veritable platform that will catapult them to the submit of any career they chose to work," he said
"This is not the end but the means to an end, the end is to ensure that they do their best to come out in flying colors by the time the results of the GCE proper come out," he said.
The council boss stated that the performance rate with the method adopted against the conventional way has been excellent over the years.
"We have been getting positive feedback from our candidates in their various tertiary institutions. That is what informed our decision to continue to take this part," he said.
"We don't give the forms for the giving sake, we want you to work hard so you can put extra effort to be able to make good grades when writing the GCE proper
" The reason for laying the emphasis on the Knowledge Economy is that, it is the only way we can go for us to occupy our rightful position in the global map of the developed Economy," he concluded.
The highlight of the event was the announcement of three students from the same parents who came top in the examination conducted.
The "Egberongbes", Zatar Temitope who scored 29 out of 33, Iqmot Tejumola, and Amir Olatunbosun Egberongbe scored 28.
Onashokun Abdulateef joined the two Egberongbes with 28 marks.
Ameer Olatunbosun thanked the Chairman for giving them the opportunity to write the exam and the opportunity to get the GCE forms freely.
In his own words, Zatar Egberongbe said the magic is reading hard.
He thanked the Chairman and his Dad for the success.
He said; his Dad always encourage and push them to read hard and he believed the results is what has materialised today.
The Head of the Department of Education in Odiolowo-Ojuwoye LCDA Mrs. Lawal Olanike Oshodi was happy with the outcome of the exercise.
She said: " It is not easy for the students to attempt qualifying examination and have larger percentage of them coming out in flying colors."
She advised the students to read hard to pass the real GCE so they can have, at least 5 credit in the relevant subjects in their GCE so they can get the opportunity to have free JAMB forms as promised by the chairman.
The Educational Secretary in Mushin Local Government Princess Olufemi Akinlude was pleased with the results of the students who sat for the MOCK GCE.
She thanked the Chairman, Hon. Ajala for the program which has been sustained over the years.
She advised the students to study hard as they have passed a stage before they got to where the are now.
She encouraged them to put the stage right to justify their qualifications for the opportunity which must not be wasted.
At the event were the Vice Chairman, Odiolowo-Ojuwoye LCDA Hon. Seyi Jakande, leader of the Legislative Arm of government in the council Hon. Rilwan Ajenifuja and some Councillors.
