Olusoji Idowu is one of the streets in Ilupeju area of Odi-olowo/Ojuwoye LCDA. An outsourcing organization (ICS) whose company is on the street took the responsibility of fixing the road.
This outstanding initiative prompted the Chairman of Odi-olowo/Ojuwoye LCDA, Hon Rasaq Olusola Ajala, to visit the organization with some members of his team yesterday.
After the head of Administration in Odi-olowo/ Ojuwoye LCDA, Alhaji Shakirudeen Omotayo, briefly introduced the team to the CEO of the organization, Mr Peter Akindeju, he welcomed the entire team to the organization.
He said, "This organization has been in existence for 25 years and moved to the present location in 2013." "We have been contributing to the growth of our immediate community since our arrival even we have no permanent place yet," he added.
He noted that the same road under construction was tarred about four years ago, but it got bad and they had to intervene now to put interlocking which will be more permanent.
The Chairman, Hon Ajala, commended the organization for deeming it fit to construct the road. According to him: "We are here to appreciate you on your various interventions toward ensuring that the council realised the greater vision we have for the people of the local council development area.
"If every corporate organization could follow suit, the local council would have gone far in the provision of infrastructures and social amenities for the people.
He further said, "All over the world, no government can do it alone. The reason is because the resources at the government's disposal is not always enough to cater for the needs of the people."
Hon Ajala said:" Ilupeju is the most sophisticated in terms of human capacity and infrastructural development out of the nine wards in the local council.
He also stressed that the other eight wards are densely populated and a great deal of work have been done by the government to put infrastructural development and social amenities in place.
He said:" Work would commence soon on about 17 roads which has been marked out for rehabilitation across the local council development area.
He called for collaborations between the council and the organization in terms of employment of the youth within the local council.
