The Chairman of Odi-Olowo Ojuwoye LCDA, Hon Rasaq Ajala, has unveiled a powerful project within the LCDA.
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony held today Friday June 24, 2022, the Council Boss said the project tagged πΌππππΌπ π π½πππΌ πΌππππΏ πππππ½π ππππΌπΎπ π½ππππΏπππ is aimed at relieving the residents of Odi-Olowo Ojuwoye and "of course serve as a means of generating revenues".
"In one of our engagements during the electioneering, we did promise that if given the mandate, we would build an administrative edifice that will stand the test of time," the chairman said.
He added, "We met with stakeholders, revealing that one of our major programmes was adequate provision of infrastructural and social amenities, using the instrumentality of office."
Explaining the purpose of the project, Hon Ajala noted that the initiative followed the observation that most of the residents of Odi-Olowo Ojuwoye LCDA will have to travel as far as Ikeja and Yaba to rent an event centre to hold an event.
"We observed this stress and promised that a centre will be erected within this LCDA for that purpose. We are building a powerful, multi-purpose structure that will engender a massive development in our LCDA," Ajala stated.
He leveraged the avenue to inform stakeholders that the project will require heavy financial support.
"To achieve this, we need money. This is not only an edifice, it is a platform for the generation of revenues.
"It is a four-storeyed building. However, one of the major challenges is funding. This is the reason we have to solicit support from every stakeholder.
"We would not want this project to hinder the execution of other projects. We must fulfil our electoral promises," he stated.
The chairman explained further, "Though I was mandated to complete the project within fifteen months, I have directed the consultant to complete it within a year."
He, therefore, appealed for the support of all the leaders present to meet the deadline.
"It is a sacrifice for all the elected and appointed leaders. We must be part of the success story by getting this project done.
"I know this is an austerity period, but this project is for the growth and development of Odi-Olowo Ojuwoye LCDA.
"It is not only about Ajala; individual contributions will be on record that we all contributed to the success of the project," he concluded.
