In a bid to ensure the successful implementation of his administration's key infrastructure initiatives anchored on HEWA Agenda, the Executive Chairman of Òdì-Olowo/Ojuwoye Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Seyi Jakande (JAKO), has embarked on a hands-on approach to monitor ongoing projects.

On Saturday, November 1, the Chairman led a team of council officials on a tour of ongoing road projects, inspecting the rehabilitation and reconstruction efforts on major arteries within the community.

The inspection tour covered several key ongoing road constructions including Adegboyega Street, Adedoja Street, Ibadan Street, Adelakun Street, Akala Street, Adewusi Street, Ashaoku Street, Muibi Street, Omotayo Street, Damengoro Street, Ìgbàrere Street, Arolahun Street, Ladipo Sóde Street and Adewusi Street, making a total of 14 roads . He also visited the road desilting ongoing at Alli Lane, Arolahun, Kayode and Olateju streets.

During the tour, Hon. Jakande conducted a meticulous assessment of the state of the drainage systems and road surfaces, seeking to verify the quality of the job being delivered.

Notably, the Adelakun and Adegboyega road construction works have been completed and are awaiting a proper launch.

This initiative is part of a broader strategy to ensure effective channeling of stormwater, a critical measure aimed at mitigating the perennial issue of flooding in the surrounding areas.

Hon. Jakande also stepped up the inspection by visiting the Kayode Primary Health Centre, which is undergoing reconstruction under his leadership, further demonstrating his administration's commitment to healthcare infrastructure.

The ongoing infrastructure drive is seen as a significant step in addressing the long-standing challenges of road deterioration and poor drainage within the LCDA, with residents eagerly anticipating the projects' completion. The people of Òdì-Olowo/Ojuwoye can look forward to not just smoother commutes, but a healthier, more aesthetically pleasing, and prosperous community, firmly on the road to realizing the full benefits of the HEWA agenda.
